Sensacional… Reblog por @designerhenriq de http://chaircards.wordpress.com/
Eliel Saarinen was asked to design Cranbrook Educational Community by George Gough Booth in 1925. The Campus was fashioned after the Bauhaus in Germany that had just moved into it’s new Dessau location. Saarinen became president of Cranbrook in 1932, one year prior to the Bauhaus closing in Berlin. While at Building Cranbrook, Eliel designed the furniture for his home. This is the side chair from his Dining set. The Classic Art Deco style was typical of Saarinen’s work for the period.
